The ( medium size by urban standards PD of my intimate aquaintance ) is * still * including 25 yd , when many in the region have gone to 15yds . 25 yards actually is very relevant to a big part of its specislized turf .

Just before my time , there was the legendary instance of Ofc dropping an armed carjacking , escaping prison , with first shot Hit at a measured 76 yards . ( Escaped from some other agency , when our guys were nearby ) .

Engagements since have ranged from arms reach , to running gunbattle between two Dectictives and kidnapping suspect , that included diagonally across large suburban lawn .

I've had a couple of very good Buicks in my life , notably the 225 coupe w/ 455 .

Ancestrially , my Dad's Straight 8 '41 Convertable was the Muscle Car of its day . One memorable occasion , he had it to 135 and still winding out , when an Antelope jumped in the road in front of him .
