True story!

The bridge of my glasses broke, and I had a friend perform an emergency repair, soldering them together. I got to the VA and the Optometric Department replaced the frames within 7 minutes (crisis averted.) Today, I received a new pair of glasses in the mail. (It has been a week since the incident.)

Kudos to the Veteran's Administration!

Correction: The VA sent me a new set of frames, with "placeholder" (non-prescription) lenses.

The original frames had become warped, and the bridge had been fatigued. Thank God, I made it to the Optical Department at the VA Hospital

I'm about 28 miles from the VA Hospital in Portland, Oregon. Sometimes it can be a regular pain in the... that's the place!

I have used V.A. Hospitals in Utah and Tucson without any complaints. The iffy ones seem to be in the South.
