Trump bringing back the Battleship

Remember, there have been NO battleships built in 80 years (I think the UK commissioned one new one in ‘47 or 48 (HMS Vangard?) . The old ships lacked today’s technology BUT they were designed to take repeated hits from warheads substantially heavier than ANY antiship missle carries AND survive. Today’s weapons are built for today’s targets-which are unarmoured. Remember the Iowa’s were not retired because they weren’t effective, they were retired because they demanded large crews and were expensive to operate. The navy in its infinite wisdom replaced with the very expensive Zumwalts (with no ammo for their main gun) and the “littoral combat ships”, which in turn proved very problematic , very expensive and very underwhelming.

I said before, I'm going to say it now. Donald Trump was a BETTER choice than Kamala Harris but he wasn't a GREAT choice.

The only way I can say this without offending people is to say that he's got too much ego to be a truly good president.

He loves Donald Trump more than he loves America.

And he's willing to put what's best for Donald Trump ahead of what's best for America

I've always said I don't like Trump. He's an arrogant, egotistical A-hole.
But I did vote for him 3 times simply because he was the lesser of two evils.
That tells you a lot about the state of politics in this country. 🤬

"There is a need for the new DDG(X) whatever it finally turns out to be since the Flight III Burke's maxed out the hull & energy generation capabilities."

that statement is saying alot
i been watching bb62 curator videos of the museum, most of the iowa class
the power generation gear was placed in such a manner as putting in BIGGER units was almost impossible due to the foot thick ( think) deck plate.. and cutting a hole through side of ship was again not a very smart move
anyway it was designed for a 25 year life...hmm it came back 2 x
the last needed tons more electricity to run the new missiles, radar etc
the she was built with a very large reserve capacity to make electricity .. so here 1940s era turbo generators carried the load well into the 90s
cool

now we dont need a big battle ship
but yes new DDGs would help as the ones new are out of room as one would say

Wow. Looks like we have a bunch here that should be working at Raytheon or Northrup Grumman with their vast knowledge of naval tactics. As far as tea and the British, I know little.
I don't have vast knowledge of naval tactics. All that I mentioned is in the history books. That, and I have been afloat on an amphibious assault ship - as have you I imagine.

Some of our most effective leaders have been bombastic. If you don't like Trump, you wouldn't like Patton, MacArthur, Andrew Jackson, or others. Their egotistic personalities aside, they shared an ability to focus on what needs to be done and overcome resistance to get there. This is how I see Trump. I often think, "sheesh, I wish he hadn't said that", at the same time I am impressed with his ability to get things done. I have also noted that many things he has said that the media portrayed as untrue or outrageous, that eventually turned out to be true. He is turning around the economy, secured the border, supports law and order, strengthening the military, boosted oil production, is bringing manufacturing back to the U.S., and on and on. He's imperfect, but we needed a buĺl in a china shop to take on the media and the deep state and the loons and Commies on the left. He recently broached the need for term limits in Congress, which I believe is sorely needed. Trump and MAGA are good for America, I will tolerate some bombastic speech.
