Twas a HK of an afternoon...

So, finally I was able to get to the range...on one of the coldest days of the year. I gotta say though, that today was the first time in a long time when I didn't break into a sweat in there :ROFLMAO:. I wanted to bring my FN509 because that gun always makes me feel good, but I couldn't find the magazines to save my soul, so...I brought my VP9SK (which is also a feel good gun...probably the most accurate for me 😊) and the new CC9.

I wish I could pull off a range report like our friend @BassCliff, but realistically I don't think anyone can touch that guy's reports. So here it is...

The range was packed. Apparently I wasn't the only one with cabin fever on a Saturday. I had to renew my membership, which entailed going through the waiver process as well as the payment. After about 20 minutes I took my kit to lane #4...I was lucky to get a lane because by the time I got there, there were people waiting for a lane.

I started off with the VP9SK. This is my go-to for qualifying for my concealed carry license. It is the one I shoot the best and one of the guns I carry most often.

This was the first magazine, mighty unspectacular if I do say so myself. It's been a while, but still...😒 It felt good though, like a reunion with an old friend. This was at 10 yards, BB 124gr. I only had two more targets, so I ran one out to run the rest of the SK mags.

I slowed it down some, bursts of five still, and didn't do too badly. Perishable skills, ya know ;). This one remembers though, and we'll get'er back on track.

Now, the CC9 is another animal altogether. It feels great in my hand since I put the Talons on, but she be a snappy one. Put the last target to 10 yards and ran five mags through it.

Not great, but then it's still kinda new and I KNOW I have a lot of work to do with it. Performed flawlessly, as did the SK. It's a nice little gun and it fits me nice as a carry, being little and all, but we need to work together a bit more often. I almost was feeling that the sights need to be tweaked, but realistically...I know it's just me.

Well, that's it. Usually I like to bring three or four guns with me, but today the range was busy so I'm glad I didn't bother. I'll be breaking in the little CC9 more in the coming weeks for sure.
Thanks for taking the time to read through my report. I haven't done one for a while and it seemed to me to be about time to share 😊😎.

Hey @belladonna!

What great fun! It looks like you're keeping up your skills just fine. Sure, it may have been a while but any bad guy in your way wouldn't be for long. It's good to have an indoor range in weather like this. I usually go on Wednesday, away from the crowd. We'll have a high of 11°. Brrr!

I hope you can find those mags. Mine get spread out sometimes too. I've done the same thing, trying to gather up the ones I need before leaving for the range. Doh!

Thank you for your indulgence,

BassCliff

Cures any HKitis…..

Thanks for the kind words guys, and yes @powerboatr and @BassCliff, it's nice to have an indoor range to go to in the winter, especially when it only got to -4 today. And @Annihilator, one of these days I may have to break down and find me a cure for my chronic "HKitis" and see what all the Glock fuss is about ;).
That’s like saying I’d like to have monkey butt for a couple of days to see what all the fuss is about. No. No you don’t. 😎😳🙄😇
