Um, Not for Me, I Don’t Think…

Hi,

Well, that certainly introduces a wee bit of cognative stress. I kind of like the idea, as long as all necessary safety precautions are taken. You don't want to be hit in the eye with a bottle rocket or Roman candle. Firecrackers add some chaotic distraction to the drill.

When I was a kid we would hurl firecrackers, bottle rockets, and Roman candles at each other just for fun. We were "careful" (not malicious) and nobody got hurt.

I once had an instructor that would shoot his shotgun to signal the start of the drill. He was a salty old cuss, great teacher, former combat marine and retired LEO.

So, sure, bring it on!

Thank you for your indulgence,

BassCliff

Hi,

Lemme see if I got this right guys didnt like the idea of airsoft force on force but bottle rockets are OK good training?

Cool your jets.

While force-on-force simunitions training is offered at my range, many shooters do not have that kind of training available. Other means must be taken to introduce stress into the self defense training drills.

Thank you for your indulgence,

BassCliff

Not sure this is actually a safe way of training…

1st..i do not put myself into situations where a full blown army is coming at me...such as Sunday drive with the wife and grand kids going thru Chi Town.......

that is a wee bit extreme except for maybe a mercenary to train for, but not me. (i can see Rambo, and Norris, and Schwarzenegger training like that.....but not me )

anyway's.....

my state does not allow us to have "Tommy Guns", or "Bouncing Betty's", or "Claymores",

so what's the use, if i can't have .................

Way too many folks think John Wick and Rambo are real……🙄. I’ve no plans to go to war. If I should ever need a firearm for self defense against massed hordes I’ve obviously made some seriously bad decisions to wind up there. I avoid major cities and when I do travel near one I avoid da ghetto. It’s still a “free” country so a chap can do pretty much what he feels is right.

I’ll stick to boar that charge back and want to slice you wide open thanks 😏
Nothing like a PO’s boar at short range moving toward you at warp speed to get your attention. Methinks a lot of would be operators with their tacticool gear would fill their britches before the tusker tore them up. I know a 45/70 GuideGun was a real comfort and there’s NO pistol I’d want to use to face one given a choice. If I HAD to, it’d be my 69 Smith-but that’s a poor second choice😏

Been charged a lot over the years. It will get you going. 50/50 split on some that came all the way in and others turned before they got within 5 yards. None of them lived thru it. Its a flash reaction. A wild full grown boar has no natural enemy in the south down here, so they habe no fear of anything except being shot at

That sir is a fact! If you don’t get about a quart of adrenaline dumped in you when that happens you’re already dead😊

THAT is why I would rather hunt Wild boar than any WhiteTail. Give me the thrill of a charge. I got charged by a Boar on my first Pig Hunt. Looking back I made a poor choice in ammo (44mag Black Talon out of a Contender); but that charge hooked me.

Knowing that you can face the charge is a huge part of knowing you can fight a 2 legged animal
