Mrs. BassCliff and I have booked a Viking ocean cruise around the British Isles for summer of 2027. We'll start in Bergen, Norway and take the ship around Ireland, Scotland, England, Wales, etc. It's not a huge ship, about 1200, and should be less hectic than our (Fun!) Alaska cruise on Holland America with 2500. I'd stay away from those cruise ships with 5000 on board. That's just nutz.
The Mississippi cruise sounds great. I hope you get to enjoy a nice vacation soon.
