WA has some a of most draconian gun laws in the nation. Lowering crime is NOT the reason.

And seeing as the town of Port Angeles has possibly the most crime and methamphetamine production problem on the Olympic Peninsula, look at the photos of just this one of the same type businesses there. Naw, this sh*t isn't counter-productive to their quest for lowering crime, is it?
True story: Before I left that area for sane ground, someone stole an industrial size forklift, drove it a mile or so along the highway to my favorite privately owned gun shop in the next town, drove right through the building and into the store and stole their best weapons.

I guess you have to decide if you want to live where people smoke pot OR be able to own and by guns. Trust me the slow strangulation of rights still hurtzzzzz Move to a free state and breathe....
I'm there. Probably the most free town in the most free state. Private sales without an FFL are legal here. No pot shops. No homeless. Huge population of retired veterans, cops, firefighters and EMS. Take your pick...Cowboy hat or ball cap.
No multicolored flags. Free gun range. Cattle drives down the highway.

They certainly are. And digging into the wallets of gun owners. Think of an honorably discharged veteran having to pay for a gun safety class before buying ANY weapon.

Again, they're trying to make the bar to ownership as high as possible because it will weed out some people. There are people out there who won't go to the hassle of trying to buy a weapon if they have to jump through all the hoops.

I've said this before In other places If you look at some of these proposed gun laws They're all coming from a single source.

All the gun "safety" organizations Every town, Ceasefire, Sandy Hook promise and all the others are funded by Soros and Bloomberg. They're really not separate organizations they're branches of one organization with the specific intent of disarming the proletariat.

Move to a free state and breathe....

And the last thing I'm going to say about this, because I tend to get real long-winded, is that Trump has done us more harm than good. He has pissed a lot of moderates off

I'm expecting to see a blue wave in the midterms and in the national elections in 2028.

And when that happens all those gun laws that you see in Washington and New Mexico and Colorado And now Virginia and New York, those are all going to go Nationwide

Cops and many military personnel aren’t really guaranteed to be the best with firearms, not going to lie there. But the mandatory class is unconstitutional as it is a poll tax to exercise one’s rights. Now a free class is one thing, but have you ever heard of that?

Have you seen NYPD hit bystanders? Yeah…

Of course cops and military aren't guaranteed to be the best on a case by case basis, but overall, I'd trust their knowledge and proper use of firearms far more than the general public as a whole.

Thats heavily location dependent for PDs--trust me. As for the military its going to be MOS (specialty) dependent. Im saying this as both a retired cop and military.

Cops in Alaska will almost certainly know more about guns and shooting than cops in Baltimore. The same for some military MOS's

yup my MOS had nothing to do with firearms
yet most of my detachment had to be proficient in rifle, shotgun and pistol
once in a while we got be trained on m60 mount to repel boarders as it was .
out groups were not the norm.
a military clause should have to show proof of training or the like if the state wants to go down that road.
when i got my texas conceal carry, waaaay back in 08
the rules were you had to have 8 hrs of in classroom and range time at a licensed instructors class
they did very basic firearm safety as that was part of another class they taught
then range time and score and a few laws, and a video, lunch , range , fingerprints then go home

Before I say anything else let me say that I didn't even think there should be a training requirement at all to get a concealed handgun permit.

Dad said, my last active duty station was Evan's Army Community Hospital on Fort Carson.

I think I was there for 4 years I don't recall ever going to the field the entire time I was there. I also remember that they were going to do an M16 qualification range for people assigned to the hospital and they had to borrow weapons from the 10th combat support Hospital because Evans wasn't even issued weapons they didn't have an Armory room or anything.

So just because you were in the military we should not be assumed to be an automatic qualification to safely handle a firearm.

What was your NEC, Senior Chief? On the green Navy side, I was fortunate in the weapons handling arena, thanks to the Marines. Scored sharpshooter with that sloppy old 1911A1. Those leathernecks had me learn about and fire nearly every weapon in their arsenal...M16, M60, .50 caliber machine gun, LAWS rockets, dragon anti-tank missiles, M-203 grenades, det cord, satchel charges, hand grenades, etc. Them boiz provided much entertainment for their doc. The leathernecks were the best part of my career in the Navy.

mine were all helicopter, maint control and instructor NECs

my mos was aviation structural mechanic
i have expert medal for pistol and rifle , i think thats what its called, i have to go look, old brain and all
i got a kick out of having to buy 2 more medals and ribbons then update the the stack of plastic
my last command we had to wear ALL ribbons all the time...it sucked, between seatbelt and other crap i was replacing them monthly

which at the time was pretty easy imo, we spent weeks at range to qualify and be the test cases for other dets , thank goodness we didnt try while underway
i would have loved to get quals on other items, :ROFLMAO:

Damn my old brain! Okay, I recall you telling me some time ago that you were in aviation. I don't know why I joined the Navy. Probably because of my pops. I hated being underway, even though I wasn't ship's company. Just along for the ride on gator freighters.
