What’s the point of your guns going missing in a boating accident and some goober with a magnet goes fishing? That didn’t come out of Boggy Creek by any chance?
I have used brake cleaner on badly rusted pieces of machinery.Soak it in motor oil after you take the grips off???
It’s a shame that some people neglect performing maintenance on their firearms. If you don’t and it doesn’t work when you need it then you’re going to spend the rest of your life trying to save your life.A good friend of ours was a Search & Rescue Coordinator for the county in northern AZ. She carried a 2" snub nose into some pretty rugged areas for protection. Five shot with no reloads. She brought the revolver to me to inspect. The revolver was covered in rust from years of neglect. Took me two hours to get the cylinder to rotate and eject. It was worthless for anything she intended it for.
WD40 or Kroil.
Put it back where you got it, and walk away.
It’s not toast. You can fix it.
I got faith in ya brother.
