Got my green on this morning to honor the Irish in me.

St. Patrick’s Day usually conjures images of partying, Catholicism, Irish nationalism and, perhaps most famously, the color green: green clothes, green shamrocks, green beer and green rivers. But the holiday used to be a solemn feast day when you’d be far more likely to see the color blue.

I remember my Old World Irish grandmother making a fuss about “The stupid green thing “ as she called it. She and my grandfather wore blue

Yeah blue was something a lot wore but since green is the color of the day there, been there on St. Patswhen we visited the daughter who spent a year in college as a transfer student, and it's everywhere, so who so am I to buck the fun...

The baby red potatoes are under the corned beef. The cabbage goes in later so it doesn’t get too mushy

i buy several loaves of Irish soda bread.....about the only time of the year, i can get it here.

only once in my life did i have the corned beef and cabbage dinner.......i really liked it, but here, try to get into an Irish Pub for any of it.....nearly impossible.
