Welfare cheese hogs go NUTS over Trump's "snack ban" on food stamps

Job comments and food
I would never begrudge a fellow human food. Even the worst democrat I know, I would feed if they were hungry. The lord taught me that. But there's a HUGE difference between helping people that need it and subsidizing laziness. If you can afford hair, make-up, and nails, and a new iPhone, and a nice home, don't complain to me that you can't give your obese children a bag of Doritos. Seriously.

there was a time in my life when i had to choose between food and rent. a handful of times i actually did "go to bed hungry". i clearly remember being on line at the "stop-n-shop" in philly with my small basket of fruit, veggies and chicken paying cash while the welfare mom in front of me had a cart full of crap paying with food stamps (back when they were actual paper). that is seared into my mind and still pisses me off.

They don’t need snacks
Yeah, they need to be put to work. Give them a job making little rocks out of big ones for 30 hrs a week miniumum to get “welfare” and these slobs would quickly find a real job. Also, junk food AND high en stuff like steak needs to be verboten when on the dole. There is a lot of decent healthy food that costs less than junk food. I’ve been in line buying groceries and looking at prices only to see a sweat hog in front of me buying steaks (that I could not afford) and tons of “snacks” with her food stamps😡

Hi,

I realise life is hard, life is unfair. When I was a young teenager my Dad was injured at work and had to go on disability. We received welfare and food stamps for almost two years. Mom got a part time job. Us older kids (there were 5) mowed lawns and had paper routes. We grew a big garden. It seems the amount of benefits today are much more generous than they were in the early 70s. But we made it through. Dad started working again as soon as he could and didn't retire until he was 70.

I can't help but think making better life decisions, taking more responsibility, being self-reliant instead of dependent, and working hard, would go a long way to solving most of life's troubles.

Thank you for your indulgence,

BassCliff

As a nation we do not do enough for those genuinely disabled. Instead we pour assets into those too lazy to work. Frankly if someone is too lazy or “too good” to work they can go hungry until they get an attitude change,
