What are you doing right now??

Sitting here at my part time job wishing I had save more for retirement.
i think we all do, but life throws us a curve ball with wife, kids, bills, and well you know...life
There's no beating inflation
not only inflation, but the daily wants of something that we cannot get or have, due to a fixed income, on SS and retirement pensions.

many times i have thought that i "should have" taken the job thrown at me from my buddies in the civil sector, like that of mechanic, in a nice well equipped tax payer funded garage, or even a job at the NAVY base here in the motor pool, again at the expense of the tax payers.

i personally just never liked the "chain of command" in those jobs.

much easier to tell someone in the private sector to go "F-himself"

then to go thru the "chain of command" in politics.

so, here i too sit, wishing i had saved more as well.

but, then, i may have stayed single, and not have a wonderful family today.

strange how in all my garage years, no one ever walked in asking for them....i had buckets of them, in a corner....once every few months a "junk dealer" came to pick them up, along with old drums, rotors and other metals.

no one stole anything from the back of the garage either.
Yep went all over town searching for them. Never had to pay most were happy I was getting them out of their shops. Had a very large cast iron pot mixed my own formulas wheel weights with antimony, tin, pure lead, Linotype and 50-50 solder. Basically trying for Lyman #2 plus the Linotype to be a bit harder for higher velocity without significant leading.
Often cast bullets with gas checks that really helped on the leading problem. Without doing a deep search found these 40-65 Black powder 385gr, 150 gr RCBS 38/357 swc & 230gr rn Lyman. Also cast for 45-70 & 44spl/mag. Still have all the bullet molds for these calibers. Sorry, didn't mean to write a book. Unfortunately don't cast anymore COPD put a halt to it.

when i used to go fishing with my kids, i took along a pair of pliers, usually needle nose, that crimped the weights.

back in my mechanic days, i cannot count to pounds of wheel weights i used to handle daily
The only thing the Texaco station warned me about safety-wise, was how to fill a split-rim with air without losing my head by lowering the car lift on it. 1972 and in high school...No safety goggles, ever. Fill that battery with acid and don't wear gloves or mind the fumes when it boils. Help the mechanic with a brake job and breath deeply while he fills the lube bay with asbestos brake dust with an air hose.
