They weren't too bad last night. As @Talyn mentioned, they can be far worse in some areas. The big ones don't bite, they could just carry off small animals, jk...it's the little ones that sting, and itch forever.

I'd be interested in knowing a little more about the staff you mentioned. I'm in the process of weaning myself off the cane I am using. But since I've had total knee replacement surgery on both my knees, and a worsening back to boot, I may eventually have to use a cane down the road all the time. I've been looking at these, and they are expensive, but I may try one of their defensive canes out. What do you think? There is a lot of defensive information and videos about using a cane for self-defense on this website. https://canemasters.com/Just finished feeding dogs, and a sausage and eggs breakfast for me.
Several days of triple digit temps here is keeping me inside. Battling cabin fever. PT exercises are a challenge, but making slow progress.
PT told me my adjustable cane is about 4" too short. Yesterday received one of those tactical sectioned hiking staffs that you screw together until you get the length you need. Various tools are hidden inside that I probably won't need but cool anyway. This thing is a beast. Warning to young punks thinking I am a helpless old cripple with a cane: don't maka me go all Kwai-Chiang Cane on you.
I have been watching many review videos on .45ACP PCC's, there is a CMMG Banshee in my future. Mrs. Greener is taking great care of me plus ranch chores, I am putting her in for sainthood.
Y'all enjoy what remains of the weekend and try to stay cool. I am going for a pedicure tomorrow so I can post feet.
