What are you doing right now??

Just got the 4th statement from Regence for my wife’s cancer surgery- $226,000! The others totalled $64,000. So far, just under $300,000. TG for insurance, otherwise we’d be living under a bridge. Is it me or is there something wrong with our healthcare system? $4,000/day for hospital stay? WTF

It’s crazy, my keytruda treatments were $148,000.00 a piece, and I did 17 treatments….anything that deals with cancer is extremely expensive sadly to say.

And it’s a knock on. I’ve worked on medical linear accelerators all my adult life for independent service organization (think joes garage but for cancer treatment machines) and when we procure something or have a service provided, the second they hear we are medical it’s like their eyes light up and they raise the price. It’s messed up because while we try to drive the cost of maintenance on the equipment down, we get hammered with costs and often am conflicted when we hear how much the facilities are charging patients.
 
having the deep talk with the pooch and wife about how the dogs cushings is getting worse despite the meds
random spots of hair running away from her skin
tonight a round spot showed up...just out of the blue and its raw. it in a spot she cant scratch
drinking is over the top,
she is irritable and does not want to be petted
i may have to let he go.
she is not happy and getting up and down the steps is increasingly difficult
appetite is hit or miss
its killing me inside

Is she getting Vetoryl? I have a Cushings dog but Vetoryl seems to mitigate it. Hoping for the best for you and your pal.
 
I had knee replacemrent 6 weeks ago folliwed by 3x weekly PT. I was only getting 85° flexion and stuck there. Yesterday Doc did a Msnipulation Under Anesthesia to break up scar tissue and get me some more motion. Holy smokes I can't believe the relief I got from constant ache and stiffness. I feel like I got a new lease. I still have weeks of PT but Life is good.
