Hi,

After my little workout routine this morning I thought about going to the range. I filled up the bird feeders instead. We had a couple of bunnies helping themselves to the fallen apples under our tree.

I swear, we have flying pigs around here. Just a few hours later, all the feeders were practically empty.

You can also see chipmunks helping themselves to all the food the birds spill. We get mostly sparrows but also Cardinals, gold and house finches, chickadees, Mourning doves, Red Bellied and Downy woodpeckers, nuthatches, grackles, and starlings. We also have an albino chipmunk shyly coming out of the tree line once in a while. Haven't seem him for a while. We had two last year, named them Frank and Jesse. Frank is gone but Jesse came back. Mrs. BassCliff was very pleased.

Last night we went out for supper to celebrate the youngest granddaughter's birthday. Fun stuff. Mrs. BassCliff is trying a new recipe (with kale!) for supper tonight. Wish me luck. ;)

I can relate. Totally.

I bet some of the downeys are actually Hairies. They’re hard to tell apart unless they’re side by side. We get all those birds plus Pileated and red headed woodpeckers, blue jays, blue birds, chickadees the occasional Oriole, hummingbirds, flickers, mockingbirds and indigo buntings.

The ones ravaging your feeders like that are no doubt the starlings and the grackles.

I have a pair of house finches that have claimed my Birda. I think they are defending the feeded from all comers. Fascinating critters

Watching reruns of Law & Order on tv. Had a quiet day. Honestly since the neighbors moved everyday has been quiet. I surely do miss them and their dog tapping at front door for treats. Tomorrow is errands with wife, besides food shopping at Holloman AFB she wants to go to Halloween store. Didn't know we even had a halloween store but we do! Maggie already retired to dream about whatever dogs dream about. Hope everyone has a great evening.
