The real plus side is when (if) the IRS has questions, my answer is (would be) "ask my CPA he's the one that figured your stupid taxes out".
I know that movie! "Freaks." Anyone who hasn't seen it, really should. The cast are actual circus "freaks" from the early 1930's. It was so repelling, that it was banned in some areas. The movie has become a cult sensation. Quite disturbing, but it defines what these people dealt with.

In the late 80s after my dad retired from the sheriff department, the IRS gave notice that he was to audited. Dad was a tough, hard-headed, hard working. no-sheet-taking Swede, but a great father, cop and would give a good person the proverbial shirt off his back. Pops had zero love for the IRS. Before he joined the department in his early 30's, he ran a small landscaping business. The IRS was brutal in the 50's and 60's. Dad made an honest mistake, and didn't have immediate funds on hand to make the payment they wanted. They took his truck and tools until he convinced them that it might be a bit difficult to pay them without his equipment and the ability to work. Anyhoo, when the IRS came when he was retired, before they arrived, he dumped all his files onto the living room floor in a pile of loose paperwork. When they came in the house, he pointed to the pile and said "There are my files. It's all there." He got some big stink-eye, and the agents decided to take his word for it.
