What are you doing right now??

well, as cold as it is here, i still had to go run some banking business.

i also had to pick up some items for our christmas dinner.

then, i HAD to stop at the bank, which was a hoot.

we do business at 5 banks.

no kidding.

each bank i or the wife and i go to, we sit down and wait for a service agent to come out, greet us, and we then all go to that persons mini office....

well........oooooookay.....................

this guy at the bank we go to 3 times year was behind the teller window, and asked us if we needed help...

i pointed to the mini office....

he then asks....."do you have an appointment"?

now, i am sitting like about 20 feet away from him.....

and i said..."SINCE WHEN DO I NEED AN APPOINTMENT to come here"?

now mind you, it is just after 9 AM, and there are customers at the teller windows.

do you think i care if i was LOUD...???

i got up, and walked over to him and said....

"SINCE WHEN IS AN APPOINTMENT NEEDED FOR MY BANKING"?

"I SIT AND SOMEONE COMES TO ME, WHY DID I HAVE TO GO TO YOU"?

the guy was a little shook up.

but HE took care of my visit.

the nerve of some people, to ask if I HAD AN APPOINTMENT.

like i got time to fart around.

i am confused....you have banks with people that actually come out and HELP you?? wholly cow :ROFLMAO:

That's the same reason I left not-to-be-named bank. Went to a different bank in town, wrote a check for the balance in the checking account and deposited it. Got a text from not-to-be-named bank asking if I recognized check # 1234 for $xxx,xxx.xx -- replied yes. Got a call later that week and asked me why. Told them I found leaving their bank via a check was much easier than GETTING A FRICKIN' APPOINTMENT -- then hung up on them.

oh yeah...go there for something that requires one on one, and that person goes into the computer system, or whatever.

go in, sit down and the next available agent, comes out, greets you, leads you to his or her cubicle, mini office, whatever.

however NO appointments are needed, UNLESS it is for a mortgage signing, or other financial doings, like setting up a IRA plan, or annuity

but this one bank this morning........i dunno.....they may not be on my bank rolls soon.

yes, at ALL my banks, the tellers too can help out, and yes too, some things they cannot do.


sit for hours...huh..??

good time for a nap........i'll be right over.

we have 2
one is 12 hr drive and the other is 2 hr drive
the 2hr one is different...the head cheese is a lady i have known since i was 4 or 5, and a dear friend of my grand dad( deceased)
i can call there and ask for her directly, when they ask my name i give it with no other explanations and she picks up
we BS for long time about stuff and then she fixes or transfers me to a fixer and its all good
i dread the day she retires. she has to be 80 at least.. rare bank indeed
she is my adopted grandma of sorts :love:

a 12 hour drive..??

by the time you get there, get approved for a new car or truck loan, drive to the dealership, then back home, it's time for another new car truck loan..!!!
 
I don't even have any banks right now. 15 or so years ago I used to use Bank of America and Wells Fargo. I dropped them when they went woke. I only use one banking institution, and that is a credit union. I've had Navy Federal Credit Union for decades, and they have never did me wrong. Just about everything I need to do banking wise can be done online. I have gone years without having to step into their lobby. I did have to go in about 6 months ago when one of my cards wasn't reading correctly. I didn't want to wait for a new one to be mailed to me. They make new ones on the spot, if you go in. I was in and out in less than 5 minutes. I was greeted at the front entrance, told the girl of my problem, was seated for about two minutes and called up to the teller area to pick a pin number for my new card and was on my way. I love Navy Federal.
 
Just came back from afternoon walk with Maggie. Air is cool but very nice afternoon. Also, the sun just came out. Went to pistachio farm, wife picked up a few things and I for some reason wanted ice cream. The pistachio ice cream was delicious! Also picked up my glasses from Walmart optical. So a good day all around. Will have a lite dinner and then its football.
