What are you doing right now??

Hi,

I'll be leaving for church soon. The piano player and I just might visit the range after services for a little "iron sharpening iron". Blessings to all.

This is not my church. ;)

Hi,

Well, Josh bailed on me so we did not go to the range after church. Instead, I'm going to watch football playoffs with Mrs. BassCliff. She's fixin' lunch right now, bless her heart. If you'd like to check out the joyful noise we made this morning, the link is below. We play three songs right at the top of the service with a "host moment" after the first one. Then we reprise a song right at the end. Blessings to all.

Thank you for your indulgence,

How to Extend Sumo Citrus Season Long After April - Sumo Citrus

Sumo Citrus is a large, extra-sweet, easy-to-peel mandarin hybrid known for its "top-knot," bumpy skin, and juicy, seedless fruit with a rich, balanced flavor. A cross between a mandarin, Navel orange, and pomelo, it's a popular winter fruit (Jan-Apr) prized for being a healthy, no-mess snack packed with Vitamin C.

Flavor & Texture
  • Incredibly Sweet: High sugar content with less acidity, providing a rich, refreshing taste.
  • Juicy & Seedless: Succulent flesh, naturally seedless, and very juicy.
  • Easy-to-Peel: The skin comes off easily, often in one piece, with no sticky residue.

Appearance & Characteristics
  • "Top-Knot": Features a distinctive bump at the stem end.
  • Bumpy Skin: A pebbled, bumpy rind that looks tough but peels easily.
  • Large Size: One of the largest mandarin varieties, making it a substantial snack.

Growing & Availability
  • Hybrid Origin: A hybrid of mandarin, Navel orange, and pomelo.
  • Short Season: Available for a limited time, typically from January to April.
  • Careful Cultivation: Hand-picked and packaged due to delicate skin, grown by expert farmers.

Health Benefits
  • Vitamin C: An excellent source of Vitamin C.
  • Kidney Stone Prevention: May help prevent kidney stones due to citric acid binding with calcium.

How to Enjoy
  • Peel the top-knot first, then peel the rest of the rind.
  • Eat fresh as a snack, or use in recipes for a sweet citrus flavor.
