Actually I was kind of excited about that for a while. But I’ve been imbibing a little bit while watching the idiot box, and just now I could have sworn I heard a helicopter outside (we do get the LifeFlights through here sometimes), and I had to get up and check…but it was just the Bose speakers in the living room…and now I feel kind of dumb

Mr Snowball came home to get a bite to eat and showed up with an injury. Local vet is a joke and cets within an hour drive isn't any help after hours or emergencies 
Drove to Amarillo to get help, but don't think they'll be doing much either. Trying to keep him contained until Monday won't be easy, so unsure what we can do. We can see bone as there's skin/fur gone as it looks broken. Just glad it's not severed! Wait list puts us at at least an hour + to be seen.

He has a fever of 105 and his leg will need to amputated. They want stabilize him and get the fever down before the surgery. Hopefully he'll be ok until Monday for when the surgery will be done.

I am so sorry to hear this. Hopefully the leg will come off and he will adjust. Animals always seem to adjust better than humans. As an animal lover I will say a prayer for your fur baby. I hate to see a animal suffer. Do you know how this might have happened? I am in the same boat, if anything happens to Maggie El Paso is the closest place to go.
