Govt shutdown. We’re not getting paid or access. Cant swipe the SRT/SWAT targets till they go back to work. Call Schumer and tell him you need more targets and get back to work 😆🤠😝

Been waiting all morning HVAC guy shows up does half the job and realizes he left his tools at his last job. He's been gone for 2 hours and i'm still waiting for him. Why can't they find people with brains to work? Is that asking too much?
I had to call the cops on our cable/At&t guy a few years ago.
The box for our street was in our backyard that is fenced in.
Tech shows up at 11:30pm knocking on the door.
I look out the window and see a man in his 20's in a black hoodie and jeans with the hood up over his head.
I ignore the knock. not opening the door or getting into a conversation w someone at 11:30pm.
He knocks again, harder and harder. I finally say thru the door "what do you want? who are you?"
He says AT&T contractor tech and needs into my back yard to get to the box to repair service.
I said gates open, go ahead. He said he cannot do that and needs me to open the gate for him per work code.
He had no credentials on him, No AT&T badge, etc and dressed like a bum.
told him I'm not opening the gate, come back when its light out and business hours.
I called the cops. they came and determined he worked for At&T. Cops read him the riot act for being stupid to pound on a door at 11:30pm, no work uniform, no credentials and no regard for the homeowner. Cop berated him and informed him he is lucky no harm came as homeowners in Texas are armed. Come back during daylight work hours.

Back when we lived in the city, my backyard was the one that had the Spectrum cable/internet pylon in it. I had dogs in my backyard, and always one that was for protection. In those years it was always Rottweilers. I kept a padlock on my back gate because too many times those cable guys would just walk back into my backyard un-announced. When I started keeping it locked, they would go into my neighbor's yards and try to climb and jump the fence into my backyard, even though I had signs everywhere saying Beware of Dog. But once my Rottweiler saw them, they stopped trying to jump the fence. Then they would leave notes on the front door if we weren't home, requesting a time they could come around when we were home.

Had to call HVAC company. They told me he had completed the job. I don't think so I said. He shows back up with attitude and finishes job. I will let them know I don't want him coming back in the fall for the furnace check. Really getting tired of incompetent people.
as a technician, mechanic etc HOW the heck do you leave expensive ac tools at another job? i bet he went off and had a nap and dooobie brother

i actually had that happen to me about 1.5 months ago.

the appliance repair man came to my house to diagnose our BRAND new washing machine.

he had to go back to his last customer, for a tool he left there.

as a former wrencher myself, i know for a fact i left a tool or 2 under the hood, or on the frame (when cars HAD frames), and i had to say good-bye, once i recalled the last place i had it..
'
Snap-On man was rather happy to sell me another.

You just forgot to use those little black sticker dots to cover up the holes you don't want us to see. ;)

My daughter has one of those little P238 thingies. She let me shoot it. I don't like it a bit, no, not one little bit.

Thank you for your indulgence,

Winding down from a nice ride in the Sportscar out since my main bike is in the shop for Spring tune-up.

DSCF6175[1].JPG

The "Sportscar" weighs 15 lbs & is a carbon bike.

More twitchy & tighter geometry than the main bike so I had to take it easy until I got used to it again.

First day in full summer gear since we're on the very upper end of the heat bubble.

My two novice pistol students will be here at 9 am. One of my posse is helping as safety officer. We'll be shooting S&W .38 revolvers and a SIG P365. We'll follow up at my LGS next week to help them decide which gun to buy. I am retired but do these courses from time to time for friends and family. It's a rewarding process at my age to still be able to contribute.
Range session went well and we escaped with no unwanted perforations.

These were folks who had never shot pistols before. It is rewarding to see the lights come on with new shooters. They are anxious to come back for practice.
