What are you doing right now??

Found a part for my rifle. Reproduction piece. Only costs $4.50. Went to checkout. $7.95 for shipping? Backed out of that money grabber. Just how much does it actually cost you say? Not a clue, but drop it into a bubble 5X7 envelope, stick a few stamps and drop it into the mailbox. I'll keep looking.
Would you buy the part if you found it local for $12.50?

If so, then get the part with shipping

Hi,

I'm about to take some Tylenol. I've got a few sore spots from all my exertion. I got up this morning and mowed the lawn, fed the birds, cleaned up myself, and have been practicing my music for all my events this week. I'm not playing in church tomorrow but I am playing for a special event next week in addition to my regular duo performances. I've got a total of two rehearsals and three performances next week. That's kind of a lot for an old retired bass player. Maybe I'll take a nap.

Thank you for your indulgence,

BassCliff

CFB this morning, then 20 mile bike ride, then off to get some groceries & a little ammo.

Now back to CFB for two more games.

Been working on a buddy's 1945 Springfield Armory M1. He's had it for years and aside from a tour of duty at 8th & I, he's never even fired one.

So, I'm taking my time with getting it apart. So far it's been taken down as far as no tools allow.

Tomorrow, the gas cylinder, lower band and handguards will be removed.

It's an arsenal rework, Type 2 lockbar rear sight, 65 series trigger housing, 6-52 HRA barrel, modified operating rod, no hump gas cylinder lock, -12 bolt.

Muzzle wear gaged a VERY tight ZERO.

I soaked the rear sight with oil, the elevation knob is stuck hard with fossilized cosmoline.

I scrubbed the barrel with both nitro solvent, and Hoppes. Insides bright and shiny, with nearly no wear.

Been fun so far.
