How old are your grandkids? They will learn a lot better marksmanship with a gun that will fit them rather than an expensive rifle that doesn’t.I Am thinking about a classic .22 to train grandkids. I want quality, not cheap.
The ergo’s and dimensions of the 2020 are similar to about every .22 bolt rifle out there. To ma to .. ta ma to.How old are your grandkids? They will learn a lot better marksmanship with a gun that will fit them rather than an expensive rifle that doesn’t.
Started my kids out on a cricket single shot 22 less than $100 now I have know idea how much they are. But the stock can be shortened easily and a replacement stock is or was cheap. They have decent accuracy. A 5 year old isn’t going to be that accurate anyway. But it does get them into shooting without a bunch of bad habits of a length of pull being way to long and they have to put the stock under their arm pit and then can’t get a good sight picture. Then as they get older get them a good 22 rifle. The ergo’s and dimensions of the 2020 are similar to about every .22 bolt rifle out there. To ma to .. ta ma to.

And I am at an age where I am thinking of what I will leave to my heirs. All my firearms are quality pieces that my heirs would be proud to own. It's partly why I said I want quality, not cheap. Firearms that I train my grandkids with should be accurate and capable of precision. The Springfield 2020 is on my list for consideration. I appreciate the input here, especially from those of you who have experience with the 2020.There is some truth to, "you're only as good as your equipment." Never compromise on your tools.
I’m thinking since you cant decide, you get him trained the proper way @Belt Fed kids would be trainedAnd I am at an age where I am thinking of what I will leave to my heirs.
