What is your absolute favorite handgun and caliber.

Condition1

Master Class
I have always liked SA pistols way more than DA. Absolute favorite handgun is my Ruger Super Blackhawk in 44 magnum made in 1979 with 98% bluing that can be loaded to light loads wiich I never do. And my Ruger Super Wrangler in 22LR/22 magnum is my second. I also have a Ruger Wrangler in 22lr. My 3rd would be my Rock Island Ultra Gov’t in 10mm that I replaced all the internal parts with Wilson Combat parts. And I’m working on a Ruger 22/45. I’ve put a TandomCross trigger and blast shield in but I haven’t gotten around to putting a trigger jod on it it yet. I own several more guns but these are my favorites. So what’s your’s.

Colt SAA .45 Colt A Christmas Present from my Wife when there was no way we could afford it. She tutored to get the money.

If I had to pick it would be a S&W 6906. It's the only gun I even moderately regret selling. It's a perfect size for carry. It has an adequate capacity.

The only reason I sold it is because it needed a repair and I had to hunt for the part. S&W told me they no longer support 3rd Gen handguns.

Now I carry a 4th generation Glock 26.

ETA 9mm

Agree with Old_Me, 1911 in .45, especially to shoot. But I really don’t have a favorite. I own the guns I own because I enjoy shooting them all (and carrying mist), including 9mm pistols and revolvers in .32 H&R and .357/.38 sp. I just find shooting the 1911 .45s (I have four) more challenging to do well shooting with than the rest.

Carried one of those for duty for 13 years. It is a fine pistol.

It all depends on what the adventure is that day....
I forgot to explain it a bit more, as all of my Smith revolvers are a favorite. Each one is a compromise and there's no perfect handgun, no do everything guns. Obviously some overlap will be there, but there's a sweet spot, as it were for each one. I try to stay in the sweet spot with each one.

I'll say the model 13, 3 inch, round butt is by far my favorite carry gun.
