SAINT
An institutionalized man who confessed to the 2011 killing of a homeless man in Connecticut in which he also ate the victim's body parts in a cemetery was granted a conditional release.

He will be off his meds and a danger to the community before the year is out
I have tons of experience with this.
They usually are find when they are off their meds, but on the street there is no way to keep them medicated and eventually they choose to stop taking them because they feel better, so they don't think they need them anymore

Part of the problem is a VERY broken mental health system. Somebody has issues they get put on meds. The meds straighten them out and they’re released. Shortly they’re like “I’m fine, I don’t need this stuff” and they quit asking it. Shortly after the same issues return. Viscous cycle. Simple fact is Some folks need to be institutionalized for their own protection (not to mention the protection of others). An awful lot of the folks running around out there today would have been long term inpatients a few years ago.
