What the hell are you doing, Glock?

I've never been a Glock hater... but I've never loved them either. That may change soon. Apparently their patent has been leaked, and I am gearing up to be a full-on Glock-hater if a word of this Gen6 crap is even remotely true. Here's the nutshell version of what we MAY be looking at in Gen6:

  • FCU implementation (did they learn NOTHING from Sig?)
  • Modular grip system (not panel inserts but full on GRIP lengths)
  • Power connection & BATTERY COMPARTMENT! They say it's for accessories like lights and such, but the patent allegedly indicates that it's also for "future smart features" as well. NO THANKS.
All Glock needs is a slightly better trigger. Nothing more. But the reason why I tend to appreciate if not like Glock is their simplicity. Looks like they're getting rid of that.

As it's almost as if they enjoy getting crushed by the likes of S&W, Springfield, HK, etc.

Well, there’s a whole lot of other pistols with switchable FCU’s (Ever heard of a Springfield Echelon?) that seem to be doing just fine.

The swappable grip units makes a lot of sense, as well…one of the most popular grip mods on Glocks are a G17 with a G19 length grip; a G19 with a G26 grip is a pretty close second.

As for the the power? It’s an option. You don’t have to use it.

I’m not a huge Glock guy, but this is pretty innovative for them.

Glock built their reputation on simplicity. This is an affront to that.

Well, here we go again. Glock keeps claiming “Perfection” and yet keeps Maine changes….😏. I mean . If they’re “perfect”……. Hard pass for me, they all feel like a durn brick in my paws. I do know they flat out work (and a lot of poor misguided souls love ‘em) but they don’t do it for me. If John Browning had wanted us to have plastic guns, he’d have invented plastic and made one😏

I totally get what you're saying, but some companies do polymers (not plastic) the right way. Springfield, S&W, HK to name a few. When polymers are made right, they are stronger than their steel counterparts.

And remember, all plastics are polymers, but not all polymers are plastic.

Totally agree on Glock, though. If it's perfect, why change it?

Maybe I'm just getting old 😂 "Damn kids and your new fangled FCUs... back in my day, triggers were pinned to the frame the way the good lord intended"
