What time is it

I wear a Samsung smartwatch to be fair. I do have a nice Bulova Marine Star that's sat in the box the last 4 years. I still have the protective clear plastic cover on the dial LOL.

Hmmmm, Ive been wearing it since 1990. Ive jumped/skydived with it. Ive been shot at, in fist fights, stabbed, and almost blown up wearing it. Its kinda like having an expensive car and not driving it because you might get a stone chip. The PD sent out a memo saying they would pay $50 if a watch was broken in the line of duty, but that didnt stop me. They would only pay $25 for sunglasses too

The worst that happened was when I was trying to lock up a kid who was high from huffing spray paint and the "dive" extension opened up but it didnt slip off and yes one time I caught the bezel on the door frame and the bezel popped off. I did have to see a jeweler about that one

For what its worth I wanted to buy my son a Rolex for graduation; but he said hed rather have a 3D printer
Still, 10K-20K is WAY more than I would want to spend on a watch. Lots of other things I think I could use a lot more than a watch that costs that much.

The Breitling with the Emergency Beacon is interesting. Id be tempted to set it off to check response time but I heard theres a fine for a false alarm....

At least on my Satellite phone you can set the who gets notified. Mine goes to family and a few buddies, with the message "Send Lawyers Guns and Money. The Sh*t has hit the fan"... They can then make notifications. It may cause a delay but how cool would that eulogy be? and at least I wont get fined for fat fingers

OK guys its Watch time What are you wearing?

Today watches are at least as much fashion as for telling time. How many devices do you have that tell time? There are dress watches and sport watches and rugged watches, digital, analog and smart watches. I wonder if in ten years if kids will know how to read an analog watch.

I bought a Rolex GMT Master II in 1990 and havent regretted it. Back then $3000 was a lot of money but today they run over 10K to as much as 20K. Are they worth it? IDK, a Hyundai will get you around town but an Audi or Corvette or _______ does it with panache

The GMT Master is a TWO time zone watch. That red hand makes one revolution in 24 hours, You set the bezel for the second time zone and you can read both times. Its not a big deal if you dont travel or have family around the globe; but for a young soldier it was really cool to be able to call home when your family was awake
Two things. 1. Kids today are already unable to read analog. I have a analog clock hanging in the back of my classroom and every time someone asks what time it is I just point to the clock and laugh at the puzzled look on their faces. 2. I like your screen name. An under rated movie and an under appreciated actor playing the character.

I like your screen name
Hahaha my family is from So Afrika

It used to be an insult to say, "He speaks little Latin and even less Greek". When I tell people I speak 6 languages, they dont have a clue. OK 3 are Afrikan languages; but its also Latin, German and French and of course English also. I find it really helpful when I wanna cuss at my boss. I used to say "Jou Ma se Pose" to my boss everyday. I told him it meant "Have a nice day". Then one day he wrote me up because a suspect complained when I called him a "liar". My boss didnt care that he WAS lying only that he made a complaint. So when he gave me the counselling form to sign, I wrote Jou Ma se Pose and he asked why I would write that. I told him what it means (youll have to google but not in polite company) He said he should write me up for that too, I told him Id have something to say on that form too
