Whatever happened to....

We had zero delivery for 8 days -despite the fact that the day after the storm the road in front of our place had been plowed and was clear. I understand not coming down my 1/4 mile driveway- but when the road the mailbox is on is clear? Who kidding who? Good friend lives in a very rural area down near Monticello Ky on a dead end road. As of today His road still has not been plowed, BUT he and his neighbors got mail every single day….says a lot about the quality or lack thereof of the individual carrier.

My younger son took a job as a mail carrier. He liked the work, but the bureaucracy was a PITA. They only hire part time mail carriers now. If you're lucky you might work one or two days a week to start. Some weeks you may not work at all. Nobody can live on that. You can have another job like normal folks, but USPS has to be the priority. If they call you to work, you HAVE to show up. No excuses. The other job has to do without you that day. That makes it hard to keep a regular full time job. And about the only way you can get on full time with USPS is for someone to either retire or die. My son liked the work, benefits were good, it had a good future if he could have gotten on full time, but in the end, he had to quit just in order to survive.
Yeah, USPS is a mess. 🤬

My son works for the USPS. He has only been there maybe 6 months. He loves it. But he is lucky his assigned Post Office is in a good part of the city. He has to pay his dues and start out at the bottom. My son is more than likely using this job as a steppingstone to move on up the chain. He has two bachelor's degrees and one master's degree. The guy that was hired on along with him (a veteran) was let go several months ago for being too slow. Now my son is looking for openings in North Carolina, as that is a place he has never lived and thinks he would like it there.
 
You ain't gonna believe this one. the package they took out of state i got a notice saying it was back in the town and out for delivery. OK i'm thinkin..FINALLY. so the mail runs and it's not in the box, i come check and it says it's way up north arkysaw now. :ROFLMAO: So i went to the post office up the road where it was and i immediately seen the problem. and i'll leave that at that. i tried to call the postal service and all you get is a machine. don't think i ever talked dirty to a machine like that. i hope they listen to it.

Now another one, fedx was supposed to deliver my pee bucket to send in and it's at the delivery station not far from here. It was there yesterday too. the reason it didn't make it today is because of dangerous weather conditions. it's 69 degrees and bright sunshine. all the snow and ice has been gone a while. These delivery companies are so bad it's comical
 
If semis are unable to move, the letter carriers have nothing to carry. It seems everything must leave town to get sorted so it can come back to town to be delivered. Our carriers are not wilting flowers, -20 check, 10” snow check, assuming the mail made it to town I guess.

Herterville is pretty small though, it might be different here.
