What’s in the box?

Yet another S&W that I never knew existed, but now want. This forum continues to remind me of how little I know about S&W semi-autos developed during my formative years. I had no idea that there had ever been semi-auto Chiefs Special models until I saw a different post a few weeks back.

S&W was easily the most common brand owned by the dads in my neighborhood when I was a kid, but they were all revolvers. I remember seeing a few of the metal-framed semi-auto's in movies or TV shows in the 80's, but I didn't really become aware of S&W semi-autos until certain police departments started carrying the Sigma series. Needless to say, this was probably the worst possible way to be introduced to any S&W line. I became interested in shooting in 2004 and I obviously still have a lot of learning to do.
