What’s the Difference Between the M16A1 and M16A2?

I shot my Uncle's M-14, he was in Korea, my first issue was in '71 with the M-16A-1, I had been a .22 rifle hunter as a kid and had no trouble reaching out with the 5.56, Kentucky windage, hitting 2'300+ yards was all that was ever needed. I think the A2 I had later on had a chrome, heavy barrel. As a kid I shot dad's M-1 at the NG weekend drills, (he was the CO and the Supply Sgt was my babysitter). Wish I had an M-1 or the 14, but I', AR poor now, can't go back.
