I also prefer that random people driving down my street, and even any locals I don't know personally, can't glance at my house and surmise there are guns in there.

You won’t get 365 days in jail dude. You’ll get a fine and probation at most. A lot better than 20,000 plus on legal and whatever else to get out of a serious FELONY charge (it’s investigated as a homicide or attempted homicide and if your use met subsection a,b or c to deem it justified) where most states takes 8 years of clear conduct before you can even apply to get it expunged and another $$ in attorney fees
But get hemmed up for a bad lethal use of force you probably won’t have to worry about it again
So trust me if you go from a harsh word to a gun with no intermediate your setting yourself up for failures (and most can’t fight and if you can that’s gonna look worse than using OC and getting away so I won’t even suggest that)

The only things on my truck are my Oakland Raiders License Plate Frame and my Performance Chip emblem. No stickers or other such things on my wife's car. Nobody needs to know my political affiliation, my 2nd Amendment support, my Firearm of choice, my 2nd Amendment Organization affiliation, etc. Not our of fear, just as a matter of commonsense. As for the Military flags, organizations, bumper stickers, that is personal choice/preference and I have much respect for you. T-Shirts, I avoid the above with the exception of Military, humorous, and Tye Dye. Again, not out of fear, but out of commonsense. Don't want to put myself into a situation where I may have to do be forced to make that decision. I despise the fact that I had to make a decision to carry due to the societal/criminal upheaval in this nation. My very first firearm purchase was back in 2020 due to the riots and violence that was being perpetrated. This is not something I would have imagined myself doing until it was. Still ticks me off.

I somehow have a lot of firearm related t-shirts. People keep buying them for me. The only ones I bought were my BCM shirt, which simply says BCM and one with the logo of my favorite local store. I pretty much never wear them when I'm carrying though unless I have an over shirt on.
I wear some gun shirts and hats when I am going to the range or at quals and classes but that’s about it. Of course when I was teaching at a range/gun store we always got free swag from factory reps we wore and my town is safe enough and rural enough it’s not a big deal to run into town
However if I am anywhere else I get out of a Subaru with an IU hat on so I’m the last one that someone would think is carrying!!!

(And the following comes with the caveat of YMMV as regards to the laws in YOUR jurisdiction)
I don’t know of any state that says if you are threatened with lethal/grave bodily harm, you MUST respond first with “less than lethal” (eg, pepper spray, etc) means before you can go to lethal.
And if you aren’t being threatened with lethal/gbh, then you aren’t justified in drawing your firearm.
In fact, it can be argued (I don’t agree with it, but I can’t say it’s not a valid argument) that HAVING the lesser means on you can be a detriment to justified use of lethal, should you need it—prosecution could ask “why didn’t you use LTL first?”, even though you were justified going straight to lethal (eg, your assailant had a knife or other weapon).
I wasn’t implying you have to go less lethal first. If someone is doing something that can cause serious bodily injury or death you are good to go, even if throwing a rock just be sure you can articulate it.
My reason on encouraging Less Lethal is most scenarios you find yourself in do not automatically warrant deadly force. Someone gets in your personal space spitting at you you back up they are just approaching you and no weapon of any kind of yoh shoot them you are probably going to have a hard sell that you acted “reasonable”
And battery is generally broken down to simply battery and battery with injury. Say the prosecutor seems your not justified with OC it’s simple battery as there is really no good way to use physical force and not injure the person. So there is that
Obviously avoidance is the best way but short of obvious on the force continuum scale most folks want to immediately go to firearm where using isn’t legal.
I go back to a Chuck Haggard Class if George Zimmerman would have used OC right off the getgo he wouldn’t be 500K in debt bankrupt have lost his house he is unemployable and divorced and nobody would know his name but hey he beat the charge so cool right!
He did a lot of wrong putting himself into that instead of just being a witness from afar and or spraying him when the kid got combative. The ONLY reason Zimmerman was acquitted was after several contacts he was in the ground and the kid was knocking his head into the concrete causing serious bodily injury. That’s a whole different scenario than someone standing up throwing a punch at you.

Its all personal preference and thank God in America we can have that, discuss it and do as we please within the law. 
I wear gun T shirts, I go to the range, i have stickers on my truck that support Law Enforcement, our hog guide operation, and a “legion” sticker. I’m a proud American living now in an affluent burb area that has become 70%+ Indian.
I doubt there is a factual statistic out there that shows pro 2A, proud American or proud Military serviceman has led to more alltercation or more crime. If so, prove me wrong, but I bet no one can.

I don't like any type of clothing with logos because all it does (IME) is give random strangers a reason to start an unnecessary conversation with me.
I've said this before but I worked in a Factory a long time ago. It wasn't heated at all really in the winter so I wore a hoodie to work one day that said Dallas Cowboys on it.
I don't give a damn about the Dallas Cowboys. I was a sheet metal fabricator, my work clothes only lasted a month or so be fore they were shredded.
I was wearing the hoodie because I was trying to stay warm. but there was a guy that worked in a different department from me who found reasons to come into my work area all day long and every time he did he yelled "Cowboys Suck!!"
I don't need that kind of hassle in my life. So I wear plain clothes.
I've talked about this before too when I worked at Synthes USA somebody took a screwdriver to my car because I had a Bush 2004 bumper sticker on it.
Somebody else chased my wife down Nevada Avenue in Colorado Springs for the same reason.
No bumper stickers on the car no logos on the clothes except I do wear a hat that says Cabela's
That whole “fear of my life” is a weak statement and often can’t be articulated.
What can be is serious bodily injury or death. While there could be a force despairing situation the fear of catching a cold or Covid is probably not a recommended defense on using deadly force. And if one was that weak in the immunity department did they take precautions wear their own mask etc etc and if so that should have negated it…..just an example of you can go as far down into the weeds as you want but bottom line anyone is hard pressed to use Covid or the flu as a reasonable use of deadly force!
