Where does your state stand on this 2025 gun ownership map?

I'm a proud 60%er. Note...the lighter the state...light loafers, communism and crime prevails. Although VT surprised me with their percentage.

I actually am surprised with the percentage for Texas. We do not register guns here, so maybe the true number could be higher. I also agree that the total number of guns probably is not calculated.

Not as many folks that hunt in proportion to the overall population due the the much much lower amount of public lands in TX than OR.

TX may be the second largest (area) and second highest population state but it has the fifth lowest (1.9%) amount of public lands in the whole country.

Mine is the same as California, New York. Let's not even get into the fact that all the felons in the Northwest corner....of Illinois.
You must live in upper state. Gotta' admit, that's some nice country. You and the State of Jefferson must have something in common. I know an OLD Marine who lives in Albany. I was there around 1982 and it was nice. Not sure about now though.

Hawaii has been VERY anti-gun since I was stationed there in the late 70's and early 80s. Honolulu police asked me why I wanted a CCW. "To protect myself and my family, sir." "Sorry, that's not a good enough reason." Denied. Some fat, local, racist, local LEO.

One should always answer .."For All Lawful Purposes", whether in person and/or on a form, and say no more.

Tennessee shows 52%. I think that our gun owners are lying. The number should be much higher. Everybody I know has at least one gun. ;)

As for California, bear in mind that the vast majority of their population lives along the coast. Check a voting map and you'll see than once you go 2-3 counties inland, most of the rest of the state turns red.
