Where does your state stand on this 2025 gun ownership map?

It's not about the number of guns owned, it's the percentage of the states' citizens that own a firearm.

I'm wondering if freedom Florida's numbers are affected by all the Northerners moving here or having a 2nd home here. I can't believe Florida is that low when we have a Freedom minded governor and even a number of Sheriffs who openly encourage gun ownership and usage. I'm disappointed, I think it's just another way out of state people are ruining my state. lol

AKA, "To protect myself and others." We know it, but they don't like non-islanders. I imagine ones with the most Hawaiian in them get approved.

The only state where reverse discrimination was fashionable before the current woke mess in the lower 48. Pay, promotion, and just general nastiness were their tools of choice. Back then there was an indoor gun range in the mall next to Hilton Hawaiian Village (I think). It was like going to the speak easy. You had to rent their guns of course.

MN is 43%…not really surprising. The problem in this state is that the more populated the area, the bluer it is. It sucks.

You must live in upper state. Gotta' admit, that's some nice country. You and the State of Jefferson must have something in common. I know an OLD Marine who lives in Albany. I was there around 1982 and it was nice. Not sure about now though.

Population of Oregon approximately 5 million. Population of Texas app. 32 million.

Also the map says percentage of people who own a gun, not how many each person owns.

I actually am surprised with the percentage for Texas. We do not register guns here, so maybe the true number could be higher. I also agree that the total number of guns probably is not calculated.

OR ... Texas has a plethora of huge urban areas , full of urban dwellers , with low traditions of shooting or hunting .

And as mentioned above , surprisingly small amount of land open to hunting . ( Most is tied up in $ hunting leases )

Everybody I know has at least one gun.

We believe you ! Many ( most ? ) of us can say the same .

It's a signifigent degree of specific location and self selection . People tend to gravitate to people with overlap of recreational interests , philosophy , culture , politics , etc .

There will also be a large number of people in your state who don't own guns , nor know anyone who does .
