I took the little guy back to the range today. I got three more magazines for it this past week so I wanted to work it a bit. I have to admit that the first time I shot it last week, it gave me an issue but I worked it out and I wanted to see if the issue repeated itself. First off, the first couple of times I shot it last week, the slide did not go fully into battery so the gun wouldn't fire. It wasn't by much either, but obviously enough to impede function of the gun. I figured it out though, and with some work with the slide, that issue hasn't happened again.
Now, I have four 12 round magazines and one 10 rounder. I can only load 11 rounds into two of 12 round mags, even with my uplula. I won't force a round where it won't fit. They say that after a couple hundred rounds it's easier to load them. We'll see. I won't lose any sleep over it right now.
So I was eager to work with the CC9 so it was first up. I fed it Blazer Brass 124gr and had no malfunctions with it. the first couple of mags went into the freebie target at 10 yards.
Not horrible. The gun feels good, and it doesn't feel snappy like one would expect from a little gun.
So the next two mags went at 15 yards just to see.....
That was fun until I had trouble seating the last mag, and it bit me a good one. Anyway, I can't complain really. The gun handles nicely for a micro and it is fun to shoot, but it feels like one that I will have to work a little differently with...kinda like a wild wolf pup. I do love a challenge
.
I also brought my VP9SK. I hadn't shot it in a while and "winter is coming"
, so I figured I better be training with it more.
I put the target out to 15 yards and proceeded to feed her. The first magazine went this way...
Wow! I was pretty happy with that. Not bad for not having shot it for...too long. I went to the lower left circle for the next mag, and the lower right for the next, with the last going upper right. Got progressively worse. My finger was stinging like a bugger so it was time to quit.
The results...
Time to head home. The only casualty was my finger,
I think I'll keep the CC9. It just needs to be broken in a bit, the wild thang that it is. The slide issue has not happened again, but it is something I watch for now. Not sorry I bought it at all.
