Winter is almost here

back in my mechanic years, i actually had a widow come into the station every fall and ask for the air to be changed..i think her husband played a prank on her, and she fell for it.

i could not explain things to her about that, so what i or my helper did was check the air pressure, and top it off to near max pressure........she'd leave all happy.

It was 88 degrees here today...which is weird for these parts this time of year. We're loving it but we ALL know how the hammer can fall instantaneously. I've seen a nearly 50 degree drop in less than an hour. That's pretty freaky. Most of the guys on my street are already giving the snow removal equipment a once over cuz...YOU NEVER KNOW.

Ah, I'm loving all the weirdness. The later in the year I have to turn on the furnace, the better for my wallet. And don't even get me started on my winter commutes :oops:.

I love it here in FLA. The biggest hassle during winter months are the motor homes with NYC plates and the like clogging up highways wandering from lane to lane and taking over parking lots at the local shopping centers. Good chance that the chlamydia you are worried about is arriving on that very same RV.

As one of them southerners, I think clean snow is pretty to look at, once it turns to the frozen mud, not so much. Come on down to the beach here in FLA and drive up here to the top of the dunes. We are used to pulling "you northerners" out of the sand once you "freak out and crash". See how ridiculous that sounds?

I told one of the gals who worked with us that she should take her Volkswagen to the dealership and change the antifreeze in her radiator because the summer heat weakened the summer blend so it needed to be changed out.
 
There's plenty of examples of when the south gets some "real" winter weather with snow, and while the kids like to play in it, the adults seems to panic on the highways at snow amounts "we" don't pay any attention to.

Have fun pulling those "eastern" Northerners out of the sand.

Been to FL 3X (2X to the Keys). The first time the Keys were really nice then the second time they were very over-developed and ruined IMO.

You can have the fire ants, pythons, iguana's falling out of the trees, alligators, sweltering summer heat/humidity, hurricanes, and too many people.

You're welcome to come up to eastern MT and experience "gumbo" when driving out and about in that part of the state.

I was in Central Florida for survival training then on to Key West for Sub School. That was in the 50s
