Deputy Sheriff Melissa Pollard

Deputy Sheriff Melissa Pollard was killed when her cruiser collided with the back of a semi-truck at the intersection of FM 14 and State Highway 37-S, between Quitman and Winnsboro, at approximately 10 a.m.

I was eating dinner and saw this pop up in tonight's news about her service. Mind you it was news from the big city of Tyler. we dont have a local station.
she was killed on the 9th, when she rear ended a turning 18 wheeler.

to make matters worse and get me really pissed off at our community for not putting word out, i just called the head shed directors and the one i got hold of acted like he didn't know who she was, etc


i am deeply saddened, she was a HUGE asset to our little lake community, always treated everyone here like we were her family and looked out for us.
Always had a smile and made sure to say hi if she saw you in town whether she was on duty or off.

I said a prayer for her and her family.
really not a good way to end a friday.

Hang tough…most of us make it out the other end. Sometimes with injuries, but out nevertheless. After retirement, you get a feeling you done good…then you realize your pension is only a “portion” of your working salary!

It's seems few care anymore since it became acceptable and encouraged during #46. To many of my colleagues died under horrible circumstances in my 26+ years. I made it to retirement but with injuries that effect my quality of life.
