Wood & Steel: My Crush Rifle

Hello all, here is today's article posted on TheArmoryLife.com. It is titled "Wood & Steel: My Crush Rifle" and can be found at https://www.thearmorylife.com/wood-and-steel-my-crush-rifle/.

Good article, nice read on a good rifle, thanks Mike.
On Robert Mitchum? He was his own likeable person for the most part. Classification/characterization if needed, had his own rugged individualism? .... Made up his own lines once knew what the script was, he improvised with what was available and kept going. Can be a wise thing to do.

Your descriptive words take me back to 1971 when I caressed my M14 at Ft Jackson SC. Such great memories. No scope needed but I always wanted one. My plan is to have one soon.

I had the honor of Field Testing the M14 in the Arctic and then firing it in the U.S. Army while on several Army Rifle Teams, USARAL, Sixth Army, and Washington State ARNG Team. If I were to go back to Camp Perry or Camp Atterbury, I would choose the M1A for my National Match Course and even my 1000 yard matches, it is one great rifle.
