Would it be worth obtaining a 10.5"-11.5" barrel for the Colt Model 6951?

Which barrel lengths are you talking about?

You mention both 10.5-11.5 & 5.5-6.5?

What advantage?

Major loss of velocity, major increase in muzzle blast & noise. Increased wear & tear, because of the increased pressure from the gas port being closer to the chamber, unless you put an adjustable gas block on it.

If you want a toy go for it.

The shortest I go is a 14.5.

Tried a 11.5 but didn't like what it did to the gun & the loss of performance.

A 10.5" barrel or 11.5" barrel would still be a step up over the 4.25"- 4.7" barrels of most service-size pistols. An added FRT could come close to equating SMG performance. A binary trigger wouldn't raise too many eyebrows. Bear in mind this PPC has no forward assist (as if the original 5.56/.223 ever needed one). The 16.1" barrel provides great ballistics, but indoors the longer barrel can become cumbersome.

House clearing would be easier, and the muzzle blast would be limited by the birdcage (A2-type) flash hider.

This is the reasoning behind my proposition.
