Today was a fairly rare day as I am wearing a watch that I do not wear a ton but I really care about and will never sell. An RGM SEA3

The reason i care is it was a rare and fun point in time with a great group of guys, when I got it. RGM ran the Ultimate Dive watch forum and told us to design a divers watch and they would build it. This was a very unique opportunity.

We ended up with the Sea3 , as unique as the group who designed it. It had the worlds first dual time bezel to time bottom and decomp times. It had I believe 6 different face colors in two face designs each with 2 sets of hands to choose from. It was limited to 300 total pieces.

When they were done we had to do a week's worth of very hard crossword puzzles and all those who finished were put in a drawing to win one. The moderator wrote on pieces of food and out them in a dish, the one his dog ate first was the winner. I won... yeah I wear it little, its too big and heavy for my tastes and wrist these days. But I do enjoy wearing it occasionally and remembering, VBJ if you are still here I raise a glass in remembrance of those days and guys, including you.

I'm going to say the same thing that I say every time this topic comes up.

When I was a kid every year for Christmas my grandma would buy me a Timex watch. I almost invariably lost it by the end of January.

I bought one of these either right after basic training or at my first Duty station (Peden Barracks Wertheim FRG).

I wore it for three or four years and then at some point I lost it.

After I got out of the army I went to work in a machine shop. I wasn't allowed to have anything on my wrists on the shop floor.

After doing that for about 8 or 9 years I got out of the field and the very first time I put on a wrist watch it drove me nuts.

I actually bought the pocket watch on the left sometime between 2000 and 2005. The one on the right was a retirement gift I gave myself in October of 2021. I've since wondered why you would give somebody a watch when they're retiring and they don't need it anymore?

Bottom line I hate wrist watches they drive me nuts. I don't like anything on my hand I don't even wear my wedding ring. I still have it but I never ever wear it.

So when I get dressed I have a pocket t-shirt on and then a camp shirt on over it. And I wear the pocket watch in the T-shirt pocket and hook the chain to a buttonhole of my shirt. It works great.

Today I spent time clearing brush out back so been wearing my wood wandering watch. Seikovsolar on a Dr James Bond pattern Nato strap with a clipper compass. Seiko has the best longest lasting lume in the business. If it's charged before bed you can usually still seeing dimly 8 hours later. This is still an hour after coming in. Got to figure out why these pics are showing rotated, never dis before.
