With all this escalating tensions between Russia and United States….now the president is locating 2 nuclear subs in certain areas, god I hope this calms down…..

Are they nuclear powered SSNs or SSGNs or SSBNs. Excluding the SSBNs, do the SSNs or SSGNs have nuclear weapons? Not enough info from the article. BTW, the last time Putin rattled the (tactical) nuclear saber when Biden was in office, ABC news was quick to do a piece aboard a SSBN with Trident ballistic missiles with 100+kt warheads showing that the Biden admin had no idea how to play this game. In his defense, we got rid of our tactical nukes while the Russians kept theirs. Nothing like having Martha Radditz threaten regional nuclear war on our behalf.

I think Sig is behind it.

Not to worry, this is just a response the the Russian Mevyev’s mouthing off. A Ballistic Missile sub does not need to be “close”, and both sides have had then in attack position for the last 65 years or so., We also used to have airborne nuclear armed bombers “On station” by the squadron 24/7 as well, along with tankers to be sure the fuel tanks were topped off in case a go order came.. Not to mention the land based missiles that can be launched in minutes if needed. No news here nd nothing in the slightest that’s more dangerous than things have been for decades.
