XD magazine interchangeability

Realize I'm not the first with this question, but would prefer to learn from some who actually own the pistols.

XD/XDm mags don't appear to interchange based on my experience (ordered one for my XDm and received one labeled XD). Am I correct in this conclusion, or am I doing something wrong?

I know the 10mm XD magazines are interchangable with the XDM elite magazines. What caliber are you inquiring about?

I don’t have any knowledge of the 10mm. Outside of 10mm the only XD/xdm mags that are interchangeable are the .45s. And, with XDM Elites, you have to remove the mag well for XD 45 mags to fit.

Oops. Another misconception ony end. .40sw. Ours isn't and Elite, just says XDm. Got it used and don't know a lot about SA guns other than the fact this one has positively impressed me with the accuracy of the pistol.
