xdm compact 13 and magazines

I recently replaced my XDM compact with the XDM Elite compact for the red dot capability. I like the Magwell but my 13 round mags from the old gun won't fit with the Magwell. Does Springfield have a different floorplate to retrofit the old mags or am I just SOL? Thanks

Welcome to the forum from the Wild Wild Upper Midwest. I'm glad you joined us. I don't have any compact XD pistols but I do enjoy my XD-M Elite 5.25" Precision, among others.

I was perusing the SA store. It seems the XD-M and XD-M Elite magazines are compatible. The difference is removing the magwell and using an extended floor plate that fits the backstrap.

According to this you have to remove the magwell and use the sleeve that fits your backstrap. Then you have a full size grip on a compact gun. I actually like that. I can't shoot if my pinky has no purchase. Some say I can't shoot anyway.
