You telling me the Texans ain’t giving the game away, just shows you that the point spread and gambling has ruined anything left of the NFL, all about the money and who gets paid to blow the games…..pathetic
What pizzes me off the most, is that they pilloried and ostracized Pete Rose for far less than what these azzhats have done. Not just the NFL. Sports, in general, have become corrupted by legalized gambling. There are enough examples of outcomes being influenced by gamblers when it was predominantly illegal to lead one to conclude that it will become a more common problem if wagering is legal.
There's a lot of people who don't consume sports for the entertainment value or interest in the game. One prominent ESPN baseball analyst went so far as to suggest that legalized sports betting is creating a group of young "degenerates". These people are only concerned with the bets rather than the game itself.
It's absurd to think that the money the players make insulates them from the temptation to further add to their wealth by manipulating the final score. There have been enough examples of this throughout history to prove the fallacy of that assumption.
The leagues are more concerned about their bottom line than the integrity of their product. When the openly ally themselves with gambling they invite criticism. They shouldn't be surprised when people have their reasons to think outcomes are rigged.
Hi,
Oh, I don't know if it was on purpose but the Texans sure played a sloppy game. I never heard officially but it seemed the Texans' quarterback had an injury to his throwing hand, which would explain all the bad throws. There were five or six turnovers in that game. Just sloppy. Maybe the weather didn't help. And the referees are just human.
Now I'm rooting for the Rams. Da Bears just tied it up.
Thank you for your indulgence,
BassCliff
