Your Most Valuable Weapon for Self-Defense

First, my mother dropped me on my head when I was a baby. I know because she told me.
Next, I had a misspent youth doing everything I could to damage what little mind I had left after Mom dropped me.
Then, I got hit in the head with a beer bottle and wacked it in almost the same place on the ice when skating.

I have no chance.
That's why I've armed my wife!

All kidding aside, Col. Cooper had conditions of awareness (various color codes).
I have found the technique quite valuable and have learned to avoid situations that end with broken beer bottles and such.
It is better to not participate at all rather than call on practiced skills after you are in a crack.
I realize not all situations are avoidable but I try...hard.
