Hi,

Thoughts and prayers to Frank Beard's family and friends. Yep, it seems all the great ones are leaving us.

I tell you what, if I had a dollar for every ZZ Top song I've ever sung.....wait, I guess I was paid $1 for every one I sang. I spent them all. But I had fun doing it.

Thank you for your indulgence,

BassCliff

Frank was an original. Seventh generation Texan, family roots in Texas before the Alamo. Nobody that I'm aware of that can replace or replicate the sound.

Vaya con Dio, Amigo...
my kids make only 5 gens of Tejas natives. that only goes back to early 1900's of somewhere in the 1918-1921 range. well the 1st and 2nd gen weren't born in TX only moved here. great-grampa moves from Ohio and grampa from Kansas (Ohio native). possibly the late 1800's (not sure how late) came from Germany. my mon's side i can trace back 600 years, but no clue on my dad's side.

his famous interview i watched was how they earned so much money one tour with the whole farm going on the road with them.
they took a break and he promptly blew all his money on drugs and more drugs dam near killed him
Chronologically, Frank was 77, his body age was probably near 90 because of his substance use... But I don't think anyone else ever had as much life in the 77 years we had him 😎
