Off to Chicago.

They’ve yet to declare this as reckless (vehicular) homicide. Until a driver is located, admits intent….it’s just going to be a traffic accident, pedestrian in roadway/due caution….mmmm-hmmm.
Here’s a link to the real story not found on local mainstream media:

- also, another display of brazen violent wee hours behavior :

- and if one wants to wonder why violent crime persists and is basically ignored although having plenty of gun bans and red flag laws;

Its not a matter of a lack of laws its a matter of a lack of enforcing the existing laws as well as not making these these miscreants take responsibility for their actions. A very good example of this is a commercial that is continually being played recently by YAP (Youth Advocacy Programs, Inc) where they have this mental midget saying "I've done some stupid things in my life and even committed crime but I'm no criminal". That commercial torques my jaw to no end, aarrrrgghh. Unfortunately, the innocents that end up paying the price are just considered inconsequential collateral damage and the criminals are heralded as victims. How many more need to perish before these progressives hacks admit that their failed policies DO NOT work. Their vision of Utopia is a boon for criminals as all it does is create more passive victims!

Hey hey now…I am a chicago resident. Sure there are seedy areas but if you are in the 3rd largest city in the US its going to get rough. Common sense applied rules for sure. Especially South of 18th street, and west of western.

West of western or east? And by Western, you mean Kedzie, right?

It's all a matter of perspective. I know a lot of people from Chicago and they will tell you it's far safer than St. Louis. And statistically speaking they are correct. Per capita St. Louis is the murder capital of the country.

Of course I don't think too many of the people I know from Chicago, or any people I know who like to go up and hang out in Chicago for the weekend or whatever, spent much time on the south side of Chicago. In St. Louis proper there is really no "Safe" neighborhoods anymore.

It's too late for all that. The people that are willing to do what it takes to combat crime have all left. I was born and partially raised on the south side of St. Louis and I can't think of a single event other than work that would ever make me go there. Not just because of crime, though that is the reason I would never take my wife or daughter there, but the place just sucks now. Too many people, too much BS.

Its sad. Most cities.
Hood rats rule.
Everyone else suffers
Grocery and basic services dont want to be there due to crime , safety and theft.

Our grocers call it a food desert.
No real grocery stores for miles and inner city cant get a way to shop for lack of transportation. So convenience store food wins the day. Which creates all sorts of health problems .. among other problems
vicious cycle

When I was retiring from the military I was an IT guy with a Top Secret/SCI clearance and Sprint who has a Sprint Campus in Overland Park which is a city within the Kansas City Metro was doing all they could to recruit me to work for them there. A prior service employee with an active clearance is gold when it comes to bidding on Government Contracts. I had 3 teenage high schoolers at the time and there was not enough money to get me to move to Kansas City for that exact reason. It was tough. They were offering me insane amounts of money to go work for them, never caved, no regrets...

I'd say you chose wisely. Crime aside, KC sucks.

Missouri is a beautiful state and deep red. Everywhere but STL, Springfield and KC.

Not to mention the old people. I volunteer to repair and rehab houses in north St. Louis. These people paid 80k plus for their homes 50 years ago. Now they are worthless because of where they are and these people are too old to get a mortgage even if they could sell. Plus they're scared to go out of their house because of the hood rats. It's terrible.

Exactly!!
We all seen what happened to these stores during the peaceful protests...

There is a St. Louis bypass route. I-255. I’d use it.
Honestly I’ll just avoid Illinois.

I want to see the Grand Canyon and areas of Montana, also Mount Rushmore.

I always wanted to visit Oregon but the Woke Bull 💩 going on in that state has turned me off.

Also want to travel the west coast shoreline north to south before it slides into the pacific.

I can get from here to Henry’s Fork Idaho without going through an anti gun state.

Born, raised and currently still taxed in Chicago.

There‘s a long lost saying that “if they ever dropped the atom bomb (here), blowing up and obliterate an entire neighborhood back to the stone age, it would still be an improvement.”

Once bustling Magnificent Mile downtown may still be vacant, boarded up and scary to be in after sunset, but we’re getting a casino and a domed stadium for people with no money to gamble and no team yet willing to sign a lease.
Thanks beetlejuice, you’re one heck of a financial prophet.

Off is the Chicago prosperity lamp.

Area52, I've heard that the dead already vote in Chicago! Besides, the current admin will do whatever to appease the Russians and Chinese to keep that from happening. Think how many voters the Dems would lose should that happen to all the Blue, crime ridden cities from sea to shining sea! But that would be a steep price to pay and I doubt many of us would live long enough to see an "improvement".
