David N. I would choose the AR -15 in .223 / 5.56 mm because of its firepower and it hits with more velocity and force than a 9mm bullet. If I were in a close-quarters gunfight I would prefer a shotgun loaded with OO Buck Shot or OOO Buck Shot.

Interesting. Which would you choose as a new purchase, a PCC or an AR? Note. I don't currently own either.

Good question.

I think a good question in response would be “what’s the intended use”? Range toy, serious defensive tool (and then, dedicated HD or SHTF bugout/perimeter defense)...etc.

I don’t think you could go wrong with either, though.

I don't currently own a PCC. I have shot a couple and they are a blast.

I own an AR or two and still debate buying a PCC. I have two thought processes for buying a PCC.

The first being is that 9mm is half the price of .223/5.56. The second being that my wife would enjoy shooting it more than an AR because it isn't as loud.

At least I could tell her I bought it for her :)

Thanks. I see your points.
