Shield SMSc zero shifting on a Hellcat

Anybody have issues with the red dot shifting after shooting a couple mags of ammo? The red dot seems to have shifted to the left on me.
Did you use the right screws and have them torqued to specs, not sure but I think the screws should have some kind of loctite on them, not sure though….

I did use the right screws. I shot the gun about a month ago and had no problem. Red dot did move on me. Shot today and it did.

Mit’s not the actual smsc that moves. It’s the red dot that lost its Zero.

Re-zero it from a vise or at least a bench rest. Then when you think it’s moved again check zero from a vise or at least a bench rest. That way you rule out the possibility that it’s you. And as long as you’re starting over I’d go ahead and remove the optic, clean and dry the threads and reinstall it using manufacturers torque specs and being sure to seat it correctly while you begin tightening the screw. Put a witness mark on the screw to insure it isn’t backing out.

If it were me I would do that before I sent the thing back. For a couple reasons. If it turns out it’s you then you won’t look like an idiot trying to return it and if it turns out it’s not you the manufacturer won’t be able to return it saying there was nothing wrong with it.
