Vortex Defender ST Turret Adjustments

They’re not useless, but they’re also not perfect. I have a pretty good one that will get me very close, but there’s typically still a bit of adjustment when I get to the range.
Maybe, but I do better just taking a shot then look through bore, that’s how I used to do on my rifles, I start at 7yards, adjust scope, move to 15yards, shoot, adjust scope and then go to 50 yards and see where bullet hits, make adjustments and then move to 100 yards, usually I’m pretty close by then, yea, I like doing it the hard way, scopes that is…..lol

I like doing it manually too, I don’t rely on a boresight, but when I mount a red dot for the first time and it’s not even close I’ll stick the boresight in to get me in the ballpark. I dry fire a lot and it drives me nuts if I get it in my mind that the dot is not close.

Recently, I couldn’t figure out why I kept shooting to the right even though the dot appeared to be witnessing. I put the boresight in and sure enough the dot was to the left and then I noticed so was the front sight! I was actually able to slide the front sight clean out of the dovetail with my fingers.
