Bridget’s Self-Defense SAINT Mods

Almost everyone is actually using a C clamp. Lots of people use a very exaggerated version of it.
With the way I have my Tier 1-2 platforms set up with hand stops now (AFGs are in the parts box with all the other stuff that was the rage at times then faded away) I still can't get a full support arm lock-out (an 18 or 20" barrel length handguard comes close) but I still have far better support than the AFGs and back-in-the day VFGs.

I think I may have one Tier 3 ban-era AR with an AFG on it.

I've tried to simplify the extras on the guns to only those that are essentially useful and to cut down on weight and bulk.

But to each his/her/its own...

I have a hand stop on my 16” Wilson. SI Link. I get Pretty close to full extension. My thumb is on top of the rail but not my whole wrist.

I looked at your set up and I noticed you don't have a sling of some sort on the rifle... As far as rifles are concerned I always have a sling attached. But I can see why you don't if you're rifle is for just around camp or in-trailor. I walk and travel alot on foot and having a sling on my rifle allows me the convenience of carrying my rifle as well as using it to solidify my hold for long shots. I hope this may help in thinking about a sling.

Depends on use intent.

I don’t see it being necessary for a HD rifle, particularly if you aren’t going to try and do house clearing…it’s just a piece of dangly scheiß that’ll get in the way.

Which you then have to (m)uck about with to get usable as a sling, if you need it…which you probably won’t, so why bother with it in the first place?
Not really. Most slings have quick slides. BFG Vickers, Magpul MS. There are a couple schools of thought regarding slings on HD weapons and both have merit.

The C-clamp grip feels natural when using an AR to shoot rapidly at multiple targets. This grip is not universal across all rifle platforms and wouldn't be too beneficial trying it with an AK type rifle.
It has come up in all the instructor courses I have attended in the past 10 years or so. Instructors approach was, "try it, if it works for you, good, if not do what works for you"

Who cares about how the weak hand grips the handguards, to each their own. One side b!+(#3$, the other side pokes the bear, grow the #3ll up.
