Kimber does already have a big share of the 1911 market, but will people actually want to go to move up to this model over there original version, like Pitdogg2 said if it’s a series 70 only and not that stupid Swartz safely
I would submit to you that the vast majority of 1911 owners are not serious shooters and do not know what series 70 means, or Swartz safety for that matter. Only those (of us) who are gun nuts get into the details like that and argue over those things.

It’s a new model, and gun manufacturers want to - in fact exist to - sell guns. So there will be some buyers, maybe not discerning buyers, but many will buy, “just because.”

I know what a Series 70 is. Also know about the Swartz safety, and the BS CA compliant lock.
I also know some will pin the grip safety and get a dangerously light trigger job done.
I also know how to tell the differences between 1911s that have or don’t have these features.
I may not be a “Every change I get at the range shooting hundreds of rounds thru a 1911” but I do know my Sh*t about the pistol”🪖

Handsome pistol, as are nearly all 1911s. That said, dreadful history with the brand counts me out.
This. I bought a new Solo when they first came out. Beautiful carry pistol, very accurate. Problem was it was unreliable as could be, even after 2 trips back to the mothership. Never, ever made it through two mags without an FTF or FTE. I spent a bloody fortune on high $$$ defensive ammo trying to find anything that beast would eat. Finally said the hell with it, traded for a 938 Sig (a $350 Cheaper pistol) and never looked back. Sig has never failed me and it’s ate more than 1500 assorted rounds
