Yep. I’m happy with my MIL-SPEC. I may get some different sights installed but for now it’s Good to GoLow on my list of wants..... very low.
I like mine - it’s the lower $ one, Defender or Defend Your Legacy or some such ?Yep. I’m happy with my MIL-SPEC. I may get some different sights installed but for now it’s Good to GoView attachment 85231

Are those sights on the mil-spec steel or plastic? Both are same gun, the defend your legacy one only has 1 mag and different grips, that’s the only difference between the 2
I would submit to you that the vast majority of 1911 owners are not serious shooters and do not know what series 70 means, or Swartz safety for that matter. Only those (of us) who are gun nuts get into the details like that and argue over those things.Kimber does already have a big share of the 1911 market, but will people actually want to go to move up to this model over there original version, like Pitdogg2 said if it’s a series 70 only and not that stupid Swartz safely

I know what a Series 70 is. Also know about the Swartz safety, and the BS CA compliant lock.I would submit to you that the vast majority of 1911 owners are not serious shooters and do not know what series 70 means, or Swartz safety for that matter. It’s a new model, and gun manufacturers want to - in fact exist to - sell guns. So there will be some buyers, maybe not discerning buyers, but many will buy, “just because.”
This. I bought a new Solo when they first came out. Beautiful carry pistol, very accurate. Problem was it was unreliable as could be, even after 2 trips back to the mothership. Never, ever made it through two mags without an FTF or FTE. I spent a bloody fortune on high $$$ defensive ammo trying to find anything that beast would eat. Finally said the hell with it, traded for a 938 Sig (a $350 Cheaper pistol) and never looked back. Sig has never failed me and it’s ate more than 1500 assorted roundsHandsome pistol, as are nearly all 1911s. That said, dreadful history with the brand counts me out.
Like the top one, very nice!I know Kimber well. The red gripped model is an original Clackamas Oregon 45acp model.
The other 10mm is a couple of years old from Yonkers NY, both are tack driving machines. Neither has given me one bit of problems. Both get carried often.
